Shotcrete (Gunite) is our number one building product, applied by experienced tradesmen in traditional style. Shotcrete is a specially designed mix of concrete materials which can be pumped through a flexible hose over long distances. The concrete is spayed onto a grid of steel rods to form a thick, durable, reinforced concrete shell that can be shaped into an almost infinite variety of beautiful pools. This process produces a pool that can last through generations.

Our unique resources and skills enable Benson Pools to tackle custom pools and achieve impressive results for the homeowner. The climate of the Ottawa area provides unique challenges both in terms of the window of opportunity to do the work but also what actually can be built to withstand the freezing conditions of our winters.

Often clients or designers will come to us with pictures of spectacular pools located in warmer climates. We can build such pools but we have the ethical responsibility to tell the client that it might not actually survive here. However, with creative minds there is always some way to give the client a fabulous pool project. We have created illusions that mimic the look of southern pools and except for us and the owners nobody can see the difference, It comes down to a willingness to look beyond the obvious and find a solution in the design process.

The colour of a pool can be altered to suit many different tastes. The use of plaster pigments, coloured aggregates and careful workmanship enables us to make a very different Caribbean look or tone it down to a black and mysterious pond setting.

Filters are properly sized - the standard "sand" filter provides ease of operation while optional "cartridge media" types can lower water consumption.
